Pakistan's Foreign Ministry has officially announced that its national cricket team will indeed participate in the ICC World Cup 2023 in India. This decision follows a period of uncertainty when Pakistan had indicated the possibility of withdrawing from the World Cup, prompted by India's announcement that it would not travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023. In a press statement, the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan underlined the importance of keeping sports separate from political considerations.

Notably, India declined to dispatch its Cricket Team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup," the press release elaborated.

Concerned about the security of Pakistan team

The Pakistani foreign ministry also expressed its worry regarding the safety of its cricket team while in India and has communicated these apprehensions to both the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Indian authorities.
